~ 2008 - In Review ~

2008  began with a bang when AKC/CKC CH Indian Hill's Avenged Sevenfold
took Winners Dog at the Potomac Valley Regional Specialty!
He went on to receive the honor of an Award of Merit out of the classes
over many top champions!

Indian Hill's A Beautful Lie

"Freeze" as we call her, has an unusual registered name with signficant meaning. A group called 30 Seconds to Mars did a song called "A Beautiful Lie".  The video was filmed  in the Arctic Circle and used to spread the message about the importance of Climate Protection and the deterioration of the pole, how quickly the ice is melting and how it is conceiveable that in our lifetime, the Polar Bears will be no more.  Please visit this website and learn some easy ways to help. For Example, if everyone took 30 seconds to inflate their tires to the proper pressure, we could save TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND barrels of oil a DAY.

At the 2008 National Specialty in Warwick, Rhode Island
with FIERCE competition,
our Indian Hill's Velvet Revolver won Best in Futurity!
This was our first time exhibiting in Futurity!

Way to go, Pistol!!!

My deepest appreciation to Kathryn Young
for bringing Happy to this year's National
and allowing me to spend such
precious time with my old girl!
She looks beautiful and is obviously
thriving in the warm and loving
environment at Lowenzehn!

In the summer of 2008,
I traveled to Stockholm Sweden to attend the World Dog Show.
It was fantastic and
we are very proud of AKC/CKC/SUCH CH Indian Hill's Blizzard of Oz for placing 4th best Champion Male
at the exhibition!

What a great honor!

I am deeply indebted to Betsy and Robert In de Braek and Daniel Scheffer of Bernice Love Kennel for picking us up at the airport in Germany and hosting us in style for 4 days.  In addition to touring Germany, the In de Braeks gave us a whirlwind tour of Holland !  On the last day of our visit, Robert drove us to Belgium to visit Ivan and Suzan Delrue of Stokerybos Kennel !  The brunch was more than I ever expected, the wine was devine and the Belgian chocolate was only surpassed by the SPECTACULAR Berners of Stokerybos!

Holland

Thank you, Ivan, Susan and son!!!

Sadly, in September of 2008, we lost our beloved AKC/SUCH CH Zandrina's Hubert at 7 years old.

In December, CH Jenny Creek's Lord Bacchus came to the "Hill"!!!
This wonderful dog has fit right in and we are expecting his first litter with his new wife,
